    The Iron Claw

anyone watch this yet? what a good movie. such a tragic story for this family. I remember watching the brothers wrestle in the 80's. they were very popular when i was in Jr high. i assume it must be based on a book written by Kevin as it is from his perspective and he is the only living brother left

I liked it from a nostalgic perspective, but knowing what was to come is kind of a bummer.

We watched this in the theater. Since I grew up in Texas during the 70's-80's my family watched the Von Erik's every week. The family drama was sad. After watching the movie you really need to watch something that will lift you up, I suggest a comedy.

I thought Zac Efron shouldve played Kerry not Kevin, but I suppose none of the people resembled their real life counterparts other than maybe David and Fritz.
The movie didn't really get to me like I thought it would. Maybe because I grew up seeing these events play out during the 80s (via watching WCCW on UHF here in NYC & reading the Apter mags).

The real life story is a lot more tragic than what the movie shows too. Theres another brother, Chris, who died after Michael. That doesnt get mentioned at all in the movie I believe. As well as the deaths of WCCW mainstays Gino Hernandez during all of that and much later on Chris Adams met a violent end. But I suppose that's what Dark side of the Ring is for.

It's Saturday night on channel 55, (UHF) and WCCW is on at 5:00pm.

Ah yes, memories. The film was great, loved it. I thought the David Shower scene was a bit too extreme and should have NOT been included. Can't imagine Kevin approved that.

Yeah, Fritz was a C***. Even though Kevin is always defending him. I can't believe he even RIPPED OFF his own sons, when it came to ca$h. F***!

Gino, Chris, Brody and everyone else were not there to have THEIR stories told, it was about the boys. I laffed at the LANCE "Von Erich" bit that was funny!!

Yeah, "Dark Side" is a great resource for all the territories. I do feel for the family, they did good and despite all their misgivings, They did NOT deserve their fate.

Mike was my fave, he wanted to get into TV and Film, I can see him today working in the industry. F***.

No mention of Kerry's wife and I wonder if his daugter's Hollie and Lacey had any input in the film?

I just hope Kevin is at Peace and spends the rest of his life doing what he wants to do.

Rest in Peace, David, Jack, Mike, Kerry and Chris

I think I recall reading that they basically combined Chris and Michael into one character. The feeling was that there was already so much death; the full story was too tragic to tell.

I watched the movie on fast fwd when it first hit streaming...as others have said, I knew what was coming. Now I kind of wonder...if Mike hadn't been pushed to wrestle when he would have preferred a career behind the scenes, would that have prevented his, Chris' and Kerry's deaths? Like, maybe Mike would have been happy and led a normal life. Then maybe Chris would have seen that it was possible to be happy without a wrestling career. And if Mike and Chris hadn't killed themselves, I have to think that Kerry's situation would have been completely different. The whole thing is just such a shame. But on the positive side, it has served as the perfect example of why not to push our kids too hard to lead the lives we think they should.

I liked it well enough. It did feel like a bit of a death march once the first death occurs. I know that’s the nature of their story, but would have liked a little more time with each of the brothers. For this story, I think it would have been better served as a limited series. Could have included all the brothers and covered each of their lives better, including the other tragedies that befell the family.
