Just finished watching The Rookies S1 DVD Set: GREAT guest stars!

    Hello, Everyone.

I just finished watching the season 1 DVD set of The Rookies from 1972. I really enjoyed it (Kate Jackson and Jill Danko! ). Also great were the guest stars!

Here is a list I compiled:

    1. Mark Leonard (best known as Spock's dad Sarek in ST: TOS)
    2. John Davey (the 2nd Shazam on the Saturday live action Shazam! show)
    3. Bill Campbell (is that his name? He was Trelane on ST: TOS)
    4. Clint "I only work now when I'm in my brother's films" Howard (brother of Ron Howard and best known as the "this is tranya" guy in ST: TOS)
    5. Mike Farrell (best known as B.J. Hunnicutt from M*A*S*H and as the Dad in Providence)
    6. Martin Sheen
    7. I don't know his name, but the actor who sold the Trek crew the tribbles on ST: TOS
    8. Dick Van Patten (best known as the Dad on Eight is Enough)
    9. Cheryl Ladd--twice! Pretty funny, because in an episode early in the season, she's strangled and killed, then she pops up as a secretary later in the season (best known as Kris Munroe in Charlie's Angels)
    10. Tyne Daly (best known as Mary Beth Lacey from Cagney and Lacey and former wife of The Rookies star Georg Stamford Brown).
I know Tyne Daly appears in at least one other episode in a later season of The Rookies; I recall watching an episode as a kid in which she plays a blind woman living on a beach and Terry has a fling with her.

I recommend the set! It was a hoot to watch and I love Gerald S. O'Loughlin's snappy, sarcastic voice as Lt. Ryker.

I really regret not recording these when TVLand was airing them. I've always loved this show. I even have some View Masters of the show!

^ I really recommend the set, HG. I think you'd really like it. It's not too pricey either.

That's OK. Maybe OnDemand will have them.
