    Stressing out over my foot

About 5 or 6 years ago, I popped a ligament in my right heel. Extremely painful and I had to wear a brace and be on crutches for 6 weeks. Well, my heel hurts just the way it did before the ligament popped. I can't find my brace (I think it was accidentally given away w/ my mom's medical stuff), and I rfeally don't want this to happen so close to the holidays. I'm supposed to go to NYC to visit the Falcon for Christmas and go ice-skating. I'm trying to stay off my foot as much as possible, but I do have to work (and I walk to work). I'm hesitant to go to the doctor, 'cos I know what's wrong, but he's gonna wanna refer me, then the x-rays and geez! I just want my foot to STOP HURTING!!

Do you have a pair of high shoes ... perhaps mens work shoes ?
They might give you the support you need until you find a better solution.

Yeah, maybe a strong high shoe could do the trick, like a hiking (lace-up) shoe?

I would certainly NOT skate in your condition.

Use whatever exercises they told you to do the first time around for therapy. Try an Ace bandage and some shoes or boots with decent support. Ice skating sounds like a bad idea unless you can come up with some of those old-school two blade ice skates.

                Hmmmm....

Whenever my arm acts up they give me Naprosin E. Get the E! Sure, it turns your organs to goo and makes 'em leak out your posterior; but it stops the pain.

Well, today I wore a pair of platform high-top Reebox and it worked pretty well, (in fact I still have them on). I'll have to get an ace wrap. No one gave me exercises to do, but I healed pretty fast the last time, b/c I never took the brace off except to shower. I'm gonna keep looking for it. The only part of going to the doctor I mind is the hassle of taking off work, getting there, having it take most of the day. After all the hospital visits w/ my mom, I've had enough of that scene for awhile. But I will if I have to.

If it gets too painful go see a doctor, your health is too important to be playing around with. I found that out the hard way with my back, should've gone to the doctor right away, but in stead I waited a month and things only got worse

Don't just wait until it seems to go away.
I hurt my leg eight years ago.
                        The pain seemed to pass.

To this day, it still gives me trouble, radiating from my hip all the way into my knee.
And now the injury is too old to be effectively treated.
