Too bad if not a Movie a Half hour CG TV show would be great. Then you can introduce all kind of Villains and new Allies.

    Another cars movie Ugh!!!!

my first thought was "too bad"
my second thought was the matrix revolutions and the phantom menace - sometimes sequels are exactly what we don't need for our favorite films.

I honestly thought Up was going to be their first bomb but went ahead and saw it in the theater.

As was already posted, it is probably Pixar's best movie to date. I have never had an animated movie hit me on an emotional level but Up certainly did.

I'm sure they'll have a stinker at some point but I have heard Pixar executives say that they are extremely particular with the stories they choose and it is the story first...animation second.

Fortunately, they have not been under any pressure per se to put out so many movies per year and usually only release a movie every two years or so which allows them to be selective.

Now that Disney owns them, they might be pressured into producing more movies and have to sacrifice quality stories.

As a side note, in the book Disney War, it was mentioned that Roy Disney really wanted to buy Pixar years and years ago (back in the Toy Story Days). He saw that this company had something special to them and they could have purchased it fairly cheap. Eisner thought they were nothing more than a flash in the pan and refused. I don't remember exactly what the price tag would have been had they purchased it back when Roy Disney suggested acquiring them vs. what they actually paid for it but I know the difference is huge.

Pixar takes their time to make sure everything turns out well. They'll screw up at some point, but hopefully not for a while. My favorite is Finding Nemo, with Cars as my least favorite. But they're all good.
