Well, I'm home. There were some places I went that I really loved and some that I just didn't really care. I was relying on others for travel, but now I wish I had just taken shuttles. I ended up spending too much time in the places I didn't like and not enough at the ones I enjoyed. For example, I got up one morning and went exploring the Red Rock Canyon area, including the visitor center and doing some hiking. If I had more time and proper hiking shoes, I could have spent a whole day there. I'll post a link to some pics once they're loaded onto my Photobucket. The best part was that my aunt got me tickets to see Bette Midler - her show was great!
The other thing is that I had to travel without my husband, because he was out of vacation time, yet didn't want me to skip on this chance to go with my family. Plus, my body doesn't seem to like the climate out there. It's very dry, and I was having some trouble with nosebleeds and allergies. The first day there, my right eye swelled up and got very sore and red. By evening, it was swollen halfway shut. We were starting to suspect that I had pinkeye, but right now, it doesn't seem to be. My left eye started to do the same thing, but it never got as bad. I'm using hot compresses right now, so hopefully my eyes will be back to normal soon. That made for some rough moments, missing the husband back home and feeling lousy for part of the trip. It is nice to be home.
