I was attacked by a dinosaur today

So I am taking my daughter to her music lessons on the UT campus as we do every Thursday. We are running late as we are apt to do on our in town trips, and I am hastily scanning for a parking space and watching out for the student pedestrian traffic.

I turn the corner towards the music building and there is a semi truck blocking most of the road and a bunch of caution cones scattered about. As I said, we are late and so I am thinking - What the hell is truck doing using up all the spaces; why are all these kids running around in the way; what is that dinosaur doing there..... whut?

Holy spit, there is what appears to be a living, breathing raptor chasing a man around in front of the natural history museum.

"Um, hey guys," I say to my kids, "take a look out the window, there's a dinosaur running around."
Big loud gasp from the back of the car followed by oooohs and wows.

We slide over to the side of the road in a loading zone and watch the raptor do some tricks with the ringmaster and get some MAJOR screams from the gaggle of kids and college students that are gathered around it. Unfortunately, I was so agog at seeing a dino running about, I did not even get a cruddy phone-camera picture of the beasty.

Apparently these guys are touring the US with the Walking with Dinosaurs bbc production and are around the central TX area this week. I wish I would have known about this freebie performance a little earlier so we could have watched it up close and personal. The show looks pretty amazing, tho. May have to save up some scratch and go.

Here are a couple of shorts of the performer in the Raptor.

That's really cool. If I wore something like that around here, I'd be shot to death within minutes.

Those dinos are very impressive. They look so real!

I wanted to go to the show, but it only played in Belgium for two days, and the tickets were very pricey.
No wonder dinosaurs are extinct: they overcharge admission, probably even in pre-historic times...

I think this was televised on Discovery Channel a while back? or TLC....before they turned into a home reno/crappy "reality" show channel?....Either way, I 've seen it on tv...and it was pretty good.
