Sesame Street's 40th anniversary on Tuesday

Well, the title of this thread pretty much says it all. Sesame Street premiered on Nov. 10, 1969, so the 40th is Tuesday. I suspect that most of us hear watched it as kids, so I just thought I'd mention it since this is where we come to talk about stuff that we loved (or hated) as kids!
Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.

I was just a tad too old for Sesame Street.

I used to watch Paul Tripp's Birthday House back in the day

I love Sesame Street. I grew up with it and now my niece will. She already loves Bert and Ernie and she's only 2 years old. We also introduced her to the Muppet Show and she loves that too. Its awesome to hear her say "Kermie!" with so much enthusiasm and love for the character. I have a Kermit puppet and when I get it out she talks to him like he's real. Its cool.

I was 6 then but had a younger brother so I imagine I watched it a few times over the years. It's on the cover of TV Guide for enxt week.

Kinda wish Palisades had made those Sesame Street figures from a few years back.

These are some of the highlights I remember from my days as a wee-one in front of the Tube, soaking in some Sesame Street goodness.

Boy, I had no idea it was on that day. That has to be one of my earliest memories then, because I turned two that day and I remember my brother and I sitting down to watch it start. When I tell people that Oscar was originally orange, nobody believes me.
                          It's all good!

I watched it when It first came on but got tired of it after a while(I was probably a little to old) but always loved the muppets I'm sure almost every one watched it as a kid and watched it again when they had kids

I loved Sesame Street, even past the age it was appropriate. I had a Cookie Monster hand puppet, and a finger puppet gift set. My Aunt Valerie gave me the Sesame Street 2 book and record when I was little and I found another one on Ebay a few years back. My fave Muppets were Ernie and Big Bird and my favorite kids were Joey and John-John. The show premiered when I was 3 years old and it epitomizes childhood to me. You can't be a pre-schooler w/o Sesame Street!
