I'm not sick of Tebow......in fact, I think he is one of the best competitors and college football players I have ever seen.

I laugh at the press for how they fall all over the "story", but he is very impressive and his numbers are GREAT, especially considering the records he has broken and "who" held them.

Relax, Dude....Tebow is great and there is no need for you to ever apologize for the goofy adulation people throw at him. College Football Fans can discount that easily to realize he is a VERY special player.

Yep, Herschel did it in a year less. Still like you said pretty impresive for a running QB. Anyone know who is the NCAA record holder?

Wow, this is the single season record that Barry Sanders put up in 1988 just Amazing!

Sanders led the nation by averaging 7.6 yards per carry and over 200 yards per game, including rushing for over 300 yards in four games. He set college football season records with 2,628 yards rushing, 3,249 total yards, 234 points, 39 touchdowns, of which 37 were rushing (also a record), 5 consecutive 200 yard games, scored at least 2 touchdowns in 11 consecutive games, and 9 times he scored at least 3 touchdowns.

That was an incredible year and I saw a couple of those games that year in Stillwater.

You know he gained 555 yards AFTER he was awarded the Heisman. They still had one regular season game left and a bowl game.

I was so much a fan of Thurman Thomas, that I didn't think there was any way Sanders could replace him. The few times I remember him carrying the ball (as a Sophomore), I thought he was unimpressive as a tailback (he was always a heck of a return man, though), but one of my buddies told me in 1987 that word around the campfire was that Sanders was going to set the world on fire when he became a starter.

He's got a legacy. His son plays ball here in Oklahoma City and started as a Freshman on a 15-0 State Championship team. He's a Sophomore this year.

If that seems slightly less than impressive, bear in mind he was 14 years old and playing in a State Championship game.

I'll be honest, up until the last couple of weeks I never really considered Tebow to be much of a pro prospect. He's possibly the greatest college football player ever, though. However, I'm seeing things and noticing stuff I haven't before.

He's got a fire, a burning desire to win at all costs. The bottom line is he's a winner. In the NBA draft several years ago I told everyone I would have drafted Dwayne Wade ahead of Lebron because of his heart. I saw this guy single-handedly beat Kentucky with 45 points and twelve rebounds in the NCAA tourney. He simply wasn't going to be beat.

I see the same attributes in Tebow. You can measure arm strength, speed and durability. You cannot teach or measure heart and honor. He plays with both.

I am now a Tebow fan. I don't know what he'll do at the next level, but he's proven himself to be more of a man that half the NFL already.
