Swine Flu-H1N1 vaccine concerns anyone?

I know many threads have been on the Swine Flu, but why do you think this vaccine is feared by so many? This video scares me, but isnt every Flu shot new? Every year there is a different strain of flu, so wouldnt the flu shot be brand new every year? Or is there something different in this new vaccine compared to the regular Flu vaccine?

Well. . . .I guess there is definately hype on both sides. Looks like in the US there are estimated 36 000 (Thirty Six Thousand), flu related deaths per year, so the 1000 US swine flu deaths currently reported are small fry for the moment.

Sounds like there is a nasal spray vaccine, that uses live, but weakened Swine Flu Virus. . . maybe stay away from that one. Found some interesting articles, including one from the BBC, about an alternate vaccine, for those allergic to eggs (as most flu vaccines use chicken eggs in the preperation).

Regarding the Video. There are extremists on everyside of any argument, and people who make a good living from research dollars, or law suits, based on a given position (whether they believe it or not. . . all good income). And those that genuinely believe their views, on everyside of an argument. Just remember that for every Doctor/professor in that video, there are probably 10 to 100 that think they are talking out their procto-phones. But there is no news story in arguing the status quo. Only scarey things (whether accurate or not), that get coverage/headlines/exposure.

If these people in the video had there way. . . .100's of millions of people alive today would be dead, from Small Pox, Tuberculosis, measels and all sorts of things.

Yes, very rare side effects can happen, and I have nursed some in virtual vegetative states from the usual gammit of child hood vaccinations. . . .but millions of people are alive that wouldn't be without them.

Research. . . assess the risks, then make a decision you are comfortable with. But don't fall into all the hype, like in this video. They may mean well, and believe their positions. . . .and do untold damage in the long run, then take no responsibility for it.

I know a lot of folk go on about the risk of Guillian Barres syndrome from the Flu vaccination. But did you know that you are 6 times more likely to contract this rare disease, after getting a flu, than what you are if you have the shot. So if you get the vaccination there is this minute risk of something. . . which isn't generally fatal (but not pleasant but does go away), VERSUS not having the vaccination, getting the flu and then having SIX 6 TIMES THE RISK, of contracting Guillian Barres, which is why you didn't bother having the vaccination in the first place. They don't tell you that in the scare campaigns the media run. . . .do they.
