Today (Saturday) Jessica and I went to the Star Trek Exhibition at the San Jose Tech Museum. We had a LOT of fun! We walked through the museum portion and saw costumes, model ships, a replica of the "Guardian" set, as well as a replica of Captain Picard's quarters and the corridor of the Enterprise-D. The really cool part was the classic bridge! And you can have your picture taken there! At first Jess and I took pics separately in the authentic Captain's chair. There was this guy dressed as Sisko from DS9 (on the classic bridge, WTH?) He was showing me his album of Avery Brooks and while he was the guy took my picture! He didn't even tell me he was ready! Jess and I weren't happy w/ those so we had them retaken. We also took pics in the transporter, and they told us to look at the monitor and not the camera, so we looked as though we were looking up. FAIL! We had that one redone as well. (Hopefully Jess will post.) The cool thing about the transporter pic is that it was sorta like a hologram (I can't remember that long word that you would move the picture and it seems to move or change, I think it's starts w/ an L). We got rocker stands for them and the transporter effect is cool! We also went on 2 shuttle simulators. One was mild, and one was wild. The mild one looked like a shuttle, and it wasn't bad. Jess and I were the only ones in it and the seats were slippery, so we kinda slid from side to side when it was rocking. The wild one was better! It's actually a flight simulator w/ the same video as the mild one, but it's a 2 seater, and tosses you all over! Back, forth and upside down! Way fun, and smooth too! Had a gift shop too! We got some good stuff! I got a lunchbox, Christmas lights, a talking communicator, a very noisy Tribble, and some magnets. We had a really fun time today!

It would have been cooler if they let us take cameras in there, then my Mego Uhura and Spock would have taken some really great shots.Last edited by jessica; Oct 25, '09, 2:34 PM.Those who look outside dream. Those who look within awake.

Looking like Zira wasn't enough for Jessica, now she has to look like Lt. Uhura, right down to the beehive hairdo
It looks like you two had lots of fun.
By the way, the word you are searching for for the transporter photos is "Lenticular" SharryComment
