    Sunday Morning Belgium Trivia!

Here are the rules. . . . .there aren't any.

Prizes - Well. . . . unlikely but possibly a warm fuzzy feeling if you win.

The Question: Tourists in Brussels can't escape a visit to the smallish statue of a 'manneken pis', a boy who is happily micturating. In what square or street in Brussels is this dionysian wonder?

              A bit off topic ...

I heard Brussels is going to be the first "western" large city to have a population of Muslims that outnumber the population who are not Muslims.

              What's up with that ?

I wouldn't be surpised at all by that

Not that i'm against Muslims, but don't you guys have immigration policies ?

You would think an old and rather small country such as Belgium wouldn't hardly let anyone migrate there today - unless they were super rich.

Letting in too many people will turn the county into one big slum after a while.

We Flemish have a capitol where you are so outnumbered by French and Muslim people, you will have trouble ordering a coffee in your own language.
If you persist in asking it in your own language, you can pack up your stuff and get your coffee elsewhere.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a very tolerant person, but I often feel like an intruder in my own country. The French population wants to replace Dutch by English as a second language, "because they hardly use Dutch". Most Muslims speak French here, also.

Then, when they come to the seaside (in Flemish territory), they all speak French, because "that's the main language of the country".

May I also add that 2/3 of the national income is provided by the Flemish, and that part of our income is needed to keep the French part afloat.

Somebody get me my medication, please....

You guys should just split the country in half and make 2 seperate countries

                      French and Dutch

                      Throw the German's out completely

Splitting up the country is something that is very much "on the table" right now.
                        They're honestly considering it.

It isn't really necessary for me, as long as I'm not treated as a second rate citizen.

And the whole immigration thing is getting way out of hand.
After 15 years working as a civil servant, I got ill. My income fell back to $500. Any "political refugee" gets $800 straight away.

Do you think I could come to the US as a political refugee from the injustice in Belgium?

                          You're Western European ...
For the most part I don't think you'll need any excuse to migrate to the USA.
They would never admit this in public but the US is more than happy to let Western Europeans in without much trouble.

                            Belgium and immigration laws...

Immigrants get arrested and are ordered to leave the country and then they're set free. As if they're really gonna leave the country. I know stories of cops who have arrested the same guy dozens of times in several months, with the order to leave the country still in his pockets.
And sometimes these immigrants go on a hunger strike, dozens at a time. So eventually the government caves in
I repeat: Belgium and immigration laws...
