Oddly this song rarely gets brought up in best Pink Floyd songs, but this is their quintessential SOUND...

    I LOVE...

      Wish You were here!

After this reunion i really thought we were going to get a farewell Studio CD out of Pink Floyd!

My pick is " Wish You Were Here"

        I love Echoes !!!

Back in the 70's in NYC we used to have a radio station that used the Echoes ending lead guitar part as their official "jingle"

          Johnny Rotten wasn't a fan...

Pink Floyd was an obvious target for punk musicians, notably Johnny Rotten, who wore a Pink Floyd t-shirt on which the words "I HATE" had been written in ink.

Glad to see both "Not Now John" and "Echoes" mentioned here, as they're two of my most favorite PF songs.

Ironically I just came across this thread and I happen to be listening to "Animals"! Good cd to have on in the background when surfing the 'net.

Another favorite PF song, very moving and gets me every time....
