Stalag 17 is a really great movie ...

To best describe it, it's like Hogan's Heroes peppered with a little The Great Escape

Not my favorite movie but I've always liked D.O.A. (the original 1950 version).

                      What everyone else said.

(I have one of the Kino re-release Metropolis posters on the wall looking all a'pretty. I can't stand that they haven't finished restoring the last of the film that they found in Argentina a few years back)

The Universals are high on my list too, along with King Kong, but I have to add:

                      Bride of Frankenstein
                      Le Samourai
The Spy Who Came In From The Cold
                      Night of the Hunter

Just about everything Harold Lloyd too... The Flirt on Youtube (2:29) Everybody knows the clock hanging scene but the film it's from (Safety Last) is actually pretty great. So is The Garage. Harold's like a genteel Ari Gold of his day.

Yeah you know... I thought about Golem, but then I'd just start pulling in things like Touch Of Evil... because you know, Heston in Brownface? It's like Win/Fail all in one.

                          [EDIT]
Forehead slap: Night of the Living Dead and El ángel exterminador are also great.

The Day the Earth Stood Still I thought was a really good movie.
                                Psycho is a classic.
