KISS beat out for top spot by...Michael Buble?

Yes...Buble- pronounced Boo-bleh. Ah well. I guess Gene will have to settle for seconds. Here are the numbers:

    -- 1 MICHAEL BUBLE REPRISE 139,930 --
    CRAZY LOVE
    -- 2 KISS KISS RECORDS 104,485 --
    SONIC BOOM
    -- 3 TOBY KEITH SHOW DOG 90,293 --
    AMERICAN RIDE

It should be noted this is well off the number predicted by "industry experts". They suggested Kiss would sell somewhere between 160,000 to 180,000 copies. This CD barely climbed above 100,000 so that's quite a miss. To add insult to injury, Buble's Cd was also just released...this past Friday? So Kiss lost even with several extra days of sales and hype compared to Buble's three days of shelf life. Hmmmmmm.

Buble is the current young crooner. he is a jazz vocalist in the style of Dean martin or even James Darren. he is real big in the starbucks set and among fans of that style (me included)

I think this is a side effect of the CD as a dying medium for young listeners and the fact that most Kiss fans are'nt the Kiss Army we once were. 15 years ago I would have bought it the first day, now I can't even recall the last time I bought a CD. I have gone from "I want new music" to "i think I'll just put in one of my older cd's" or I'll just download a track or 2

I think it has a whole lot to do with them pushing the hell out of Buble on Oprah, as well as Target pushing sales too.

Honestly, in today's age of people barely buying new cds anymore, KISS selling over 100,000 cds in their first week is pretty fantastic.

To tell you the truth the last CD I bought was AC/DC Black ice.I was going to pick up Sonic Boom yesterday but got easily distracted by my wife.
It was in my sights straight down the isle I was making my move and then....Hey honey what do you think about this?....Lost my train of thought and now I'm not going back to wally until next week.
