Wow 22 ft, that is both impressive and completely nuts. 6 years and 4 months to build, I wouldn't have the patience

I thought you were going to say it's missing 10 torpedo holes

The real Yamato was an awesome stand-alone battleship...but at the same time...it was an obsolete ship...it just couldn't compete with aircraft carriers with its hundreds of planes.

                    Nope,

I really HATE older Japanese animation .. even Speed Racer.

                    I just can't watch them.

That kind of low quality animation gives me a super-headache

It's like watching a flip book in slow motion.

Everytime Star Blazers was on I always avoided it.

Then by your logic...you should never ever watch a Hanna Barbera cartoon again either...because that animation is even more atrocious.

Actually...Star Blazers had many reincarnations...you should check out the later stuff...including the movies...great stuff...and the storyline is what's mainly great about it.

Space Battleship Yamato aka Star Blazers rules.

Besides...I don't think the animation is bad...it's not Disney...that's for sure...but what distinguished old Japanese animation from American...was not the fluidity of the animation...but it's more grown-up and dramatically involved situations...which included death and destruction...like this awesome season-finale of the Spaceship Yamato's sad ending...

YouTube - Final Yamato - Yamato blows up. ( Star Blazers )

No Yogi Bear or Quickdraw McGraw cartoon is going to remotely approach that.

The English intro has fond memories for me as well...but there's nothing like the original Japanese...it's great...a true classic intro...
