It's my dream to one day own one of these.
But this one is overpriced by about $20K. You can get replica Batmobiles starting from $75K, one with full options goes for about $105K"...The agony of my soul found vent in one loud, long and final scream of despair..." - Edgar Allan PoeComment

I think it's so telling that the replica of the 1989 TV Batmobile sold for $73,700, while the "old school" bat went for $126,500.
This replica is nice, but there are some inaccuracies that throw off the look of the car when compared to the original #1 car seen on the show:
The white lettering on the under-sized, contempoary style tires...
The over-sized, overly shallow Radir rims...
The chrome side-view mirrors bolted to the doors...
The overly tall cockpit arch...
It all makes for a completely inappropriate look to my eyes.
It is still a very nice replica though. I've seen some replicas where the overall shape of the body, the shapes of the bat emblems / badges are all way off. At least here they are all correct from what I can see.Last edited by darklord1967; Oct 11, '09, 9:28 PM.I... am an action figure customizerComment

If i had money to waste i'd get one of these, a Starsky torino, a General Lee Charger, A MonkeeMobile, a Mach 5, and a spencer for hire '68 Mustang Fastback and then have someone make me a Green Arrowcar. then really push it for a 1914 Stutz Bearcat."Hang on Lady... We go for a RIDE!" - Shorty to Willie Scott.Best movie line from Indiana Jones & the Temple Of DoomComment

the torino would be the cheapest of the lotComment

the instant gratification factor comes into play. if I had the money and the difference between having it today and in a year or more after one is built I'd rather have it today (basically this is what made credit cards more appealing to LAY AWAY)Comment
