YES! I've hated him for years. Oddly enough, I think he's cute. His colors are great, he's got a great name, but I just can't stand him.

What's with all the Woody hate?
I love Woody Woodpecker.
I'd buy a box set someday if I saw a deal on it.
He's not my favorite cartoon character by any means but I don't hate him. Like many cartoons; his later ones kinda stunk and any revival just could never match up to the originals.
Example: Tom & Jerry/Grape Ape show. But that was at least watchable.

Woody was always a pain in the butt,to others which I guess truth be told is bang on for the character, you ever have one banging away on a tree in your yard?
They are a pain.
I like the 57 version as well but don't really care for woody at all!!!Leave a comment:

That's the channel I'd catch him on too....WNEW to me was Woody Woodpecker, Looney Tunes, Popeye and Casper. Their rival WPIX was Tom & Jerry, Mighty Mouse and Courageous Cat.Leave a comment:

I can only tolerate Woody Woodpecker from a certain era....
This one from 1957:

I think they took all the bad characteristics of Bugs Bunny and put them into this character. I do know what you mean. I can't stand these early development incarnations of Bugs Bunny. I'm glad they changed him. And they remind me so much of Woody Wood Pecker. On the exact flip, I much prefer the earlier versions of Daffy Duck over the ones that later developed, even the ones prior to 1940 were more bugs bunny-like. And Bugs wasn't completely developed into then (although Bugs' character continued to develop as well, it is most recognizable back to that date).

I saw Woody Woodpecker weekday afternoons after school when I was a kid, before there was cable and access to cooler cartoons like the Flintstones and
Scooby Doo.
Back then, it was either Woody Woodpecker and Terry Toons or Bugs Bunny and Friends.
Woody had 2 different laughs I can recall. I hated the higher pitched laugh. Got on my last nerve.
Today, you can't do anything to get me to watch Woody Woodpecker.
Cheers.Leave a comment:

I like some of the later Woody toons, the early ones just are too much to handle.Leave a comment:

So true,
I think early Bugs even started that laugh that Woody stole.Leave a comment:
