Anybody a fan of mid century retro furniture?

I've always been a fan of 50/60s space age design junk and always look for bargains when I'm out on the junk prowl. Anyway, today I bumped into 3 tulip chairs and eleven Herman Miller fiberglass shell chairs at a thrift store for a combined total of $40

The tulip chairs are vintage knock offs, but still cool. Total Star Trek vibes.

I already have a Herman Miller fiberglass office chair and a few other pieces around the house but my collection just got a big boost!

    Anybody else into this stuff?

Great looking chairs! Last year I came across 2 of the Miller fiberglass office chairs in yellow for $5 a piece. I fought like crazy to tie them in the trunk of my car! I love stuff like this and have had my eye out for one of those egg chairs for the past few years.

Hahaha! Yeah Tim, I actually stuffed all 14 of these chairs into my Toyota Corolla! It took some planning.

Egg chairs don't turn up as often. Good luck out there!

It's crazy what these Miller shell chairs go for on eBay. I mean, they aren't that rare, there is just a big demand for them....

My dad used to have the colored ones in his office he'd keep around for meetings.

Yeah, this is why I look for it at junk shops, I can't afford retail prices on this stuff either......

Those are pretty cool. I don't personally collect this type of stuff but it definitely sounds like something collectible.

Nice design by a well known chair maker = collectible.

                        Nice!

Definitely a fan of Mid Century Modern / Eames Era stuff. Great retro Space Age style

                        Anything by Kartell, Panton, etc...

We use a 60's space age style white round pedestal base table for our dining room table (with bright yellow "egg" chairs with chrome pedestals... very 60's mod!)

I dig looking at this stuff but it's not cheap in these parts. I used to have an amazing early 60s coffee table that was liver shaped, one new years it just completely collapsed.

Can't beat the price. When I find stuff like that its usually $40 a chair!
Too many toys. Not enough space!
