It's all based on certain tangible things like nationalized healthcare, pollution, crime rates, etc. but doesn't seem to measure intangible qualities.

If the U.S. really ranked this low; you would expect to see a mass exodus to countries like Norway but you don't.

I really love travelling to other countries and taking in everything but I always come back with a better appreciation for the good old U.S.A. So many things we take for granted that aren't available elsewhere.

You should get his address and sit on his front side walk dressed up as the warrior...LOL
You'd probably give him a heart attack.

Besides...what's up with this "so low" ranking for the USA?

              It's number 13 people...that's pretty darn high...come on now...we can't be number one at everything...lol.

Iceland is green and Greenland is icey.

Plenty of snow in Oz too, we've actually had a few Winter Olympic gold medalists if you can believe that. Heat is just as varied, it can get below zero in Victoria and Tasmania, but over 50 in Western Australia. That's celsius of course.

It would be cool to be closer to Europe or North America, but we'll take New Zealand as a consolation prize Indonesia is only a couple of hours away too, 150 million folks there and I've yet to meet an Indonesian I haven't liked, great people.

Now how can Iceland be rated one of the best countries to live in when a Big Mac costs almost $7?

I'm very used to living here and don't travel much but I can see Norway being a good place to visit ( and Sweden) as well as Canada. Of course being a huge a-ha fan Norway intrigues me! But I'm used to living here and would not want to move anywhere else! I'm not surprised that Norway ranks so high however! Any Norwegians on this board?

If I ever decided to move out of the US, it would have to be either Australia or New Zealand. I have a "Land Crush" on both of them. Plus I know there are a few Mego people down there including the winner of the 2009 Epitome of Coolness Award, David O'Dowd.

I've traveled all over Europe and I've been to Canada, every country has good qualities and bad and from all the countries I've been to I couldn't say which one is the best. This list is way too subjective if you ask me so I wouldn't spend too much attention to it

I don't believe in good or bad countries.

I've only been to about 30 diferent countries and there are definitely 3 countries that are better than all the rest. There are two that are just plain worthless.

I'm bein' a smart-butt! Every country I've been fortunate enough to visit has had great things and weak things. I will say that the more I travel, the more I appreciate the luck of having been born in the U.S. It really is a pretty awesome country.

And, oh yeah, Belgium smells odd.
