    Bedroom themes

    I was just curious...

When you were a kid, did your bedroom have a theme? Do your kids' bedrooms have themes? I have one now, 'cos I was deprived as a kid. My room is done in Star Trek/Space.

My daughters room is done in the disney theme. Its a dark purple below and has a light lavender from mid wall up. She also has a swirly type stencil inbetween the two colors that sort of marry the two. We got the paint patterns off a disney pamphlet from the depot. My sons used to be sesame street characters oil painted on the ceiling sitting on clouds and the sesame street pole one of the corners. It was neat but he grew out of it when batman came into play.

If you consider a cluttered mess a theme, then yes. My mother had a name for it though... "Pigsty".

Mine was like it is now, just a mass of collectibles. There is a thin pathway from the door to the bed.

Mine didn't have a theme, but I had a lot of posters ... everything from Steve Martin to Pink Floyd to King Kong (76 movie) to Cheryl Ladd to Superman (the movie) to Bionic Woman to some black light posters.

If I did have a theme, my theme was a mass of everything

At one point I had a similar theme....red, white and blue stripped wallpaper, shutters on the windows (INSIDE!), writing desk and colonial wall lamps. Thanks mom....

Eventually, that all came down and it was movie posters on the walls and on the ceiling I had fish nets strung across and thrown into them was my soda/beer can collection.

When I was a kid, I was really into building WWII model airplanes. As such, I had some wallpaper in my room with, unfortunately, WWI bi-planes and whatnot. Still, the plane theme worked for me. The wallpaper was on two sides of my room and I had blue walls for the other two. Pretty much everything was blue to make me feel like I was in the sky.

When I was a kid my bedroom had a western theme. Now it has sort of a "Oscar Madison" retro theme.
