Is anyone here good at mechanical doll repair?

For a project I'm working on, I need one of those walking dolls from the 50s. I know that there are several, but I need one that winds up, as opposed to the ones where you manually move the legs back and forth to make the arms and head swing in rhythm. The parts are all mechanical, springs, gears and stuff. They don't seem overly complicated. The one that I plan to use seems to go for quite a bit on eBay in good shape, but I've seen a few nonworking ones go for much, much less(obviously). So what I'm wondering is if anyone is fairly confident that they could help repair one of these so I don't have to spend way too much on a vintage doll, only to remove several pieces. I really only need the torso with the moving parts - the arms, legs, and head will be replaced.

I don't know if this will help, but there's a website called "Talky Tina Press" who sells booklets for repair of mechanical dolls. Mostly talkers, but there are some battery ops and crank ops too. Maybe you'll find what you're looking for.

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic

Thanks Sharry. I had actually checked this site before, and it looks like even the crank operated dolls are talkers.
