I love Bond. It's probably the thing I look most forward to at the movies. Connery's the man, but I like them all. I think Moore only suffered from the fact that the series got too jokey with him. He was always good.

4. From Russia With Love

Even though Sean Connery is my favorite Bond, I will give Roger Moore credit for one big thing --- In my opinion he had the BEST cold opens in the entire series.
For people who don't know what a cold open is ... it's the short beginning sequence before the opening credits and song.Leave a comment:

they never say who the villian is but I always thought it was suporsed to be blofeld (he was a different actor every time)I think I'd have to second Megoapesbut's sentiment for For Your eyes Only. This was my first Bond film, I believe. If this is the one where he flies a copter, picks up the wheelchair-bound villain and drops him into a smokestack, that's the one. I also adored Moonraker. I guess its just the era I grew up in. I can't remember ever seeing a Connery Bond film.
Scott
the worst blofeld is telly sevallas in her majestry's secret service (and I think lazneby was the most wooden bond ever - no comedic timing on his quips)
how can you have never seen a Connery film between ENCORE, tnt/tbs and bbc america bond is almost always on. nevermind home video/dvd. the first 5 bond films are all excellent and set the pattern of all the rest. most people have at least 3 in their bond top 10's. You should rent some of these. Connery in order
Dr no
From Russia with love
Goldfinger
thunderball
You only live twice
then sean wanted to take some time off and they cast lazenby for On Her Majesty's secret service which didn't work so well.
Sean returns as bond for Diamonds are Forever which takes camp to the extreme and is argualby his worst bond (Never say Never again the remake of thunderball was pretty bad too - no bond music).
then the ball is passed to Roger MooreLast edited by jds1911a1; Oct 2, '09, 6:04 AM.Leave a comment:

From Russia with love.
That was a real SPY story, and close to what Fleming had in mind.
I especially loved the fight on the train between Connery and Shaw. That was brutal.Leave a comment:

It was heavily implied that the villain was Blofeld but for some reason they didn't mention him by name......Leave a comment:

For Connery: Goldfinger, Dr. No, Diamonds Are Forever
For Moore: Live and Let Die, The Spy Who Loved Me, For Your Eyes Only
Not really a fan of the later ones, though I really did like Daniel Craig's Casino Royale.....Leave a comment:

One from each (except Lazenby since he only did one...and Dalton - he doesn't count):
Connery - Goldfinger (classic)
Moore - For Your Eyes Only
Brosnan - Goldeneye
Craig - Casino Royale (the best one IMO - because it captures the feel of the book better than any of the others)Leave a comment:

I agree totally....it's a bit dated to watch now but is still my favorite Bond flick. Love Goldeneye, Live and let Die and the Spy Who Loved Me as well.Go ahead and laugh at me, but I grew up during the Roger Moore era and just can't help having a soft spot for his flicks. My favorite is probably For Your Eyes Only
I grew up on roger Moore as Bond. connery's flicks were to cartoonish. Tim Dalton was just a mess. I liked Brosnan and I like Craig as Bond. Both of his movies have been really good.Leave a comment:

A lot of people like On her majesty's secret service but I always thought it was rather boring.
The ending was ok, but the movie itself as a whole dragged.
I also thought the reuse of past Bond clips during the beginning credits was too phoned in.Leave a comment:
