    Pro Wrestling question

    So;

    I thought someone here might know: is there a specific term used for the bad guys?

            also the heels/badguys are called "rule breakers" and babyface/goodguys can be called "fan favorites".

                  Ok, I have a question ....

                  What do they call someone who's not a good guy, but a fan favorite ?

                  Example ... Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, HHH, Scott Hall (a few years ago) etc.

                        It's short for Inbetweener....a guy that straddles the line between being a good guy or bad guy

                          I loved back in the old days when fans HATED some good guys soooo much they cheered for the bad guys ...

                          Back then, that must have ****ed everyone off

                            the terminology swtich to fan favorite is because of guys like Razor Ramon/Hall (and later the NWO in scs) and Austin who weren't "baby face heroes" but were favorites. and there have always been heels who were guys the fans liked. Roddy Piper was the prototypical heel the marks love (and when hogan turned heel in wcw Piper came in as a face that was odd).

                            Michaels was a baby face most of his career except in the DX era when he was a "favorite" but was a 'cheater'.

                              The general audience are indeed "marks," whereas those goofballs like myself who read the rags are known as "smarks" aka smart marks - or at least folks who think they are smart!
