Who would be good for the Lone Ranger?

I read something like this before.I heard he wants the lone ranger to be kind of a buffoon and Tonto to be the main lead and genius/hero.
I see where he is going thinking this trying to give some kudos to the aboriginal peoples but come on can't we have a decent ranger as well?
Make them equals not swayed one way or the other?

I don't know who he is except for seeing that picture ... but to me he looks too much like a pretty boy.
Tonto should be more rugged, imo
