Any fans of "Heros" the show?

I'm sure this isn't the first "Heros" thread but haven't seen one in a while.

My wife and I have just finished watching season one and are hooked. It has the same sort of feeling as "Lost" where you never really know who is a good guy and who isn't.
My favorite characters are Hiro, and his dad (Sulu).
the invisible guy but he may be dead, and I like Mika.

I want to like the Petrelli's but they can't seem to function without mommy.
We are getting season 2 in netfliks, so I don't know what happens yet. We are hoping to be caught up soon, and can enjoy the next season as well.

    Any thoughts??

Loved it early on like you're going through now. It definately gets weaker as the years progress. I watch it but not with the same enthusiasm I used to. I never missed a week for the second half of season 1, when I first discovered it, and all of season 2 but about half way through 3 it started to get confusing almost. Like it was just a bunch of different shows thrown in a bowl. It kinda lost continuity and goes in a bunch of different directions without ever really getting anywhere. If you like this try the 4400 that was on USA. It went 4 seasons and was a similar synopsis as Heroes. Worst part of it is they cancelled it kinda suddenly and never really finished it off correctly. They talked of doing a wrap up 2 hour show but it never materialized and a couple of the main actors got continuous shows which probably played into it as well. One was on Desperate Housewives for a while.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

I watched it for the first season but got bored with it and trailed off by season-2.

I'm not very big on watching a whole bunch of stories at once.

Yeah, it went wrong in season 2.
They started introducing new characters and killing off interesting old ones without giving them a chance to develop.

I've have heard some of those same comments about season 2. It seems like it lost a lot of people as it progressed. Too bad. I'm sure I'll stick it out unless, I find it totally annoying.

I loved the first season. I missed it when it originally aired, but later borrowed the season set from a friend and plowed through it quickly, it was very addictive. Tried to watch Season 2 as it aired but really started losing interest, it just seemed aimless and less interesting so I stopped watching after a half dozen episodes. If it turned out that Season 3 got back on track and turned out as good as many hoped it would be, I would have finished Season 2 and continued with 3. When I started hearing that season 3 was worse than 2, nevermind, I just gave up on the whole thing. Too bad, because season 1 was really good, seems like a lost opportunity.

I think the whole series would have been better off if it was presented as a 5 part mini-series and that's it.

The idea was good, but it had too much filler and that's why so many people lost interest.

It should have never been a series

I was totally hooked on season 1 -- but like most people here, I watched season 2 hoping it would be as good, but it was really hurt by the writers strike. I am not even sure I bothered to watch the entire 2nd season.

When I saw the commercials for the new up-coming season, I thought about watching it but wasn't motivated. It's too bad I like the premise, and most of the characters.

I've watched it all. Season 1 was stellar, Season 2 had some good ideas but seemed far too interested in creating new characters and then Season 3 killed all of those new characters off in order the placate the fans. Unfortunately by Season 3 we were interested in those Season 2 characters. So much stuff has went on, with little of it amounting to anything or going anywhere.

So Season 4 started last night and what do you know? They killed off one of the main characters from Season 3.

Heroes spends too much time spinning it's wheels and going back to what they had at the beginning, with mixed results. It's also hard to like any of the characters anymore. Everyone has been a villain, everyone a hero, it's tiring. Plus Sylar is too powerful as a character and they managed to destroy every other characters powers to the point that any conflict with Sylar seems like a waste of time as he could kill everyone in 5 seconds.

I really hope this season comes around. The premiere was so-so, but I definitely need it to be better.
