My aunt Elaine just died. I was very close to her and this just hit me like a ton of bricks. Elaine was a kind woman who let addictions get the best of her. She drank a case of beer a day and smoked a lot. Her liver failed. I hope this information can help someone here if they are also struggling with addiction. Elaine had small grandkids who will miss her a lot. I remember she lived with us when she was a teenager and she was our babysitter. I hold on to the fond memories I have of her and it hurts knowing I didn't get the chance to say goodbye. You guys here are like my second family so I thought I'd share this with you. The worst part is she did it to herself. Every time she went in to treatment she failed. I know god will take care of her now.

My Deepest sympathies. I lost 20 years ago my best Uncle who just wouldn't give up smoking until it was too late. he was a very masculine man when i was very young and when i saw him last he was a frail skeletal thing from emphasema. That always comes to mind when i think about people who can't quit."Hang on Lady... We go for a RIDE!" - Shorty to Willie Scott.Best movie line from Indiana Jones & the Temple Of DoomComment

I'm sorry for your loss.
May she rest in peace.“When you say “It’s hard”, it actually means “I’m not strong enough to fight for it”. Stop saying its hard. Think positive!”Comment

Sorry to hear this John. . . . .life often presents us opportunities to reflect on life and what it all means. . . . .these opportunities are often painful, but also often useful. . . .adding to our understanding, or to appreciate just how much someone meant to us. Thinking of you mate!Comment
