I think my fav match was Ultimate Warror vs Sgt Slaughter ... and surprisingly Slaughter won the belt ... It was such a surprise that Slaughter won it made the whole match worth it.

Bob Backlund v. Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka
                Steel Cage Mage
                MSG
A bloody Snuka leaping off the top of the cage with a thousand cameras flashing in the center of Madison Square Garden. Snuka was a trend setter and innovater of wrestling moves -- moves like that were not common back in early to mid 1980's.

                      LOU THESZ (2)

Professional Success: Six-time NWA World’s Champion at a time when the belt meant something.

Importance to History: The glue that held the NWA together. No Thesz, no Flair, period. Wrestlers still use the “Lou Thesz press.” Hero and role model of Kurt Angle, his solid style will always outlast the performance art of the moment.

How Good in the Ring: On a scale of 1 to 10, he was a 12. I never saw a bad Thesz match, even against the likes of a Rocca.

Drawing Power: Good enough to keep the NWA financially viable. Bad gates didn’t doom the NWA, the US Government did.

Mainstream Status: Considerable in Japan. Accepted as the real thing in the US by the amateur wrestling community, no light accomplishment.

Phantom Comment: Amazing, isn’t it, that the editors could place Thesz behind anyone in the long history of pro wrestling. No one, and I repeat, no one, has done more to shape the history and direction of the game than Lou Thesz. Though he didn’t found the NWA, he gained his fame by reigning as its champion, being at the same time an ambassador for the sport and a role model in bringing in collegiate wrestlers. Without Thesz there is no NWA, and without the NWA there is no Flair, because being NWA champion got Flair out of the Mid-Atlantic ghetto and provided him with a worldwide presence. Without the NWA title, Flair would have ranked the same as Ray Stevens.
                      Naaaaaaaaaaaahhh!!!

                      Nice try though...

I actually didn't know that Bret had an injury that knocked him out of Wrestling for Good. I was always under the impression He walked away,.. because of his Brothers death.
He suffered some really bad concussion later in his career...consequently...that led to a mild stroke.

You are delusional...you and your overrated muscle worship...lol.

Warrior was all muscle without a single ounce of athleticism...give me a brake...lol.

The dude was stiff as a board...the guy was all body...that's it......slow as heck...not a single trace of either grace or skill.

Bret Hart was a real gifted athlete with real skills...he also had tremendous stamina.

Had they fought in an MMA fight...Warrior would've ran outta gas inside two minutes...and Bret Hart with his superior technical wrestling skills...would've choked your chiseled bum into unconsciousness.

Same thing with Hulk Hogan...another muscle-bound stiff.
