Confused about the last King of the Hill (SPOILER ALERT)

In the closing shot we see Boomhaurs wallet, and he has a Texas Rangers badge.

Whats up with that? I thought in a earlier episode they said he was an engineer.

Think B.A. Where did you hide the Megos?

    Could have been a cover.

I thought they said he was an electrician at one time too.

I'm wondering if there is a spinoff in the making?

        EDITED:

Okay, never mind, I read in another thread that this was the last episode.

The only spinoff show (not a spinoff but a Mike Judge show) was The Goode Family.

And I am sooooooo glad it's already been cancelled.

          That show totally sucked, imo

Wikipedia updated their entry on Boomhaur:

Throughout the series his occupation was unknown, and it was sometimes hinted that he was an electrician living off worker’s compensation. His occupation is revealed in the series finale, "To Sirloin With Love" (aired September 13, 2009); leaving his wallet open on a dresser, a law enforcement badge is visible, revealing that he is a Texas Ranger. Since its airing, there has been some controversy over whether or not the badge was fake; an intentional jest from writers to reflect on his traits as a slick womanizer. This is due to the identification card appearing only to be a drivers license[3] and the lack of similarity to an actual Texas Ranger Badge (circular with a star in the middle).

In the show, Boomhauer is also a talented artist, mechanic, surfer, and racing driver. In one episode, it is implied that he receives favors from the various women with karate chops. It is further implied that his family is independently wealthy thanks to a winning lottery ticket.
