I think its a travesty. The pop-art look and feel of the animation of the original movie was just as important as the music. Going for a hyper-realistic 3D film like "The Polar Express" seems unnecessary and completely destroys the artistic intent of the original movie. Normally sequels don't bother me - short of the fact that its tiresome when studios keep rehashing old successes to minimize risk of doing anything new. In this case, however, I think its a awful idea . . .

Doesn't anyone have any imagination or creativity anymore? Are we doomed to endure remakes for the rest of eternity?
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."
Disney is already going to ruin Marvel, now they are going to ruin the Yellow Submarine. The movie is a classic and should be let go and be the classic that it is.
How much worse will disney do to the world?!
>Doesn't anyone have any imagination or creativity anymore?
Those people were all broken YEARS ago.
>Are we doomed to endure remakes for the rest of eternity?
Yup.
>creativity often gets way-sided for profit.
See; THERE'S the key. If people didn't pay to see them, they'd stop making them. But I'm convinced people really WANT the same old same old again and again. (Look how poorly things that are different do. Who's fault is that?)
What I find creepy is how much the Beatles have been exploited as "product" the last few years.
YELLOW SUB is one of my favorite movies of all-time.
I'll let ya know what I think of the remake....
when I SEE IT
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix
I hate how everything HAS to be a brand these days.
Don C.
Essentially that is what you become after you or your band or whatever is Gone. A brand name. Elvis, Marilyn....Michael Jackson etc. It's how the estates have to pay their Taxes so we get bombarded with Celeb products on anything they can think of.........In the end it's always been about the Money.
Plus this is nothing new with the Beatles. Beatle Products were in abundance during the hey day of Beatlemania.
