I will say there is some promising stuff here. My early favorites are "Never Enough" (sounds like it could have come off "Dressed to Kill") and the anthem-style song "Stand". Looking forward to getting the CD!

Someone handed me a pirate/bootleg of the album last night at my show with George Lynch. I have to say, I am glad that KISS stayed true to their famous sound but a little disapointed on the mix. Hopefully since this is a bootleg, that this isn't the final mix of what the album is going to sound like. If that is the case, then there are really a lot of good things about this KISS album I like. Especially the ones where Paul and Gene are allowing the "other guys" to sing on some songs. This time, instead of Peter and Ace you get new songs hearing the "new guys" Eric Singer and Tommy Thayers vocal styles and they are not bad either.

btw I got the new Ace Frehley album. Boy does that suck. I expected more from Ace Frehley. The song sample you hear all over his website is the best song on the album. The rest just lack something really bad. Especially that angels song where he has a choir of kids singing...bleh...
Then for some reason he does a horrifying cover of "Fox on the Run"

Yeah. I heard samples of Ace's new songs and I was incredibly surprised by how poorly conceived they all were. Now I've always had a pretty grounded perspective on Ace. I like him more for his guitar playing than anything he could ever hope to sing. But, for God's sake, the guy couldn't hardly hold a note on ANY of his songs to save his life. I think the KISS record will end up being pretty darn good. With the album getting a big push from Walmart, Gene's show on A&E, plus no other major artist releasing anything that week, KISS stands a good chance to get their first number one album by default. If that happens, Ace and Peter will NEVER hear the end of it. Gene and Paul will stick it to them because their just vindictive that way. Too bad. Ace and Peter will always hold an important place in KISStory...

Maybe Gene and Paul will call up Ace and Peter and
tell them they stink and hang up on them....

It's not about being vindictive that you've witnessed over the years it's about feeling that Ace & Peter have stomped all over "their" band...a lot
more than just "we want to stick it to these guys".

They are concerned businessman musicians not preschoolers.

As far as the new albums?

Ace did a fine enough job I guess----problem is that Ace shoulda done
about 5 of those in the time he did one.

KISS' new album might be better than PSYCHO CIRCUS...better than
REVENGE? We'll see.

I can't even look at SONIC BOOM as a comparitive album to classic era KISS
---it sounds too 80s onwards to me personally.

Ace and Peter are jokes because of books Gene Simmons put out.

They really are not jokes but they got left out and made to appear to be jokes after some of things Gene and Paul said about them in addition to the Gene Simmon's tell all books.

The two have tried to redeem themselves with solo work after KISS and it never really has worked out. I hope Ace can at least do something worth remembering besides his KISS years but I am afraid we're in for a big flop here.

I actually said I liked what I have heard from the bootleg Kiss album I have. I am actually looking forward to the real copy being released. The quality on this bootleg sucks and I have a pretty good idea what the clean and new fresh sounds will be like when it is released officially in better quality.

As for the Ace CD? I don't care for the bootlegs also. The outer space song is pretty cool and I hope when his official release comes out and I get the original CD it will taste better going down.

I think maybe I should just wait for the official quality release to come out before I base a bias opinion on it. Ace could do a 360 on me and put out a killer album like the new GNR that I have always hated the bootlegs of "Chinese Democracy" but fell in love with the original copy quality that came out. I have weird tastes. A lot of people hate that album. I love it to pieces. It took awhile but it grew on me.

You know me Kerry. I am the rock critic and I wait for the official copies to come out with the right quality before I take a crap on it.
