I netflixed out a movie called Cannibal Holocaust. I had heard about this notoriously nasty movie for years. I knew it (unfortunately) showed non faked animal killings and was generally a gruesome experience.
I saw the movie and actually thought it was sort of well made. I don't agree with killing animals for a movie (thank God it's generally not done now) but being prepared for them lessened the impact of seeing them. And yes, it pretty much lives up to it's hard core reputation.
So, after the movie, I still had some time and what did I pop in?
A disc of season 2 of The Donna Reed Show and enjoyed a couple episodes.
It gave me pause to think how many other people who would watch something like Cannibal Holocaust would use a couple episodes of a light 50's sitcom for a chaser.
It's sort of like watching Mary Poppins after watching Debbie Does Dallas.
