Has anyone seen the new JCPenney Xmas catalog?

I know I complained about this last year, but it's worse this year. Most of the toys are marketed toward the pre-schoolers, some dolls and hardly ANY action figures! I feel bad for today's kids who don't know the joy of opening up a catalog or newspaper circular and seeing their fave superheroes or dolls or playsets like we used to.To those Mego-Heads w/ kids, thanks for keeping the dream alive.

I have not even bothered looking at any newer Xmas catalogs for some while now due to the fact that you stated above. Maybe....Hopefully....That will all change when Mattel/EMCE starts releasing the new WGSH line. (fingers crossed)

The whole language of spotting and promoting them to the parents is different now. I bet instead of pointing out a page in a catalog, they drag their mothers over to a laptop or iphone to see what they want for Xmas.

Now, the internet is the Christmas catalog.

I think the toy market for kids older than pre-schoolers is a dying fad.
        Yes, I said fad
When you really think about it, besides a few toys made for rich kids, there basically was no toys before 100-ish years ago.

In this new modern world where kids are having sex by the time they're in 7th and 8th grade, toys are becoming obsolete -- mostly just made for grown-ups for "collecting"

I too have noiced this over the years. The Sears Wish Book was big part of Christmas for My sister and I , Every year that sucker arrived it just kicked off the season with us circling off everything our little hearts desired. It is really changed since they Internet has bewcome more accessable.

Sad, but very true. I tend to agree. I do not have kids so I do not know what kids get for allowance these days. I hope it is a lot for their sake. The toy aisle prices are getting friggin ridiculous from a kids stand point. Have you seen the price of Lego's lately?

Oh Man have I seen the prices on Lego's I almost SH*T myself when I saw the price of the Indiana Jones Temple Of Doom Set $100. That is insane. My son wanted it and I really had to explian that it is too expensive to buy , but Maybe Santa can bring it. The cost of toys are collectibles is getting so out of control it really is starting to kill the joy of collecting.
