wow another one bites the dust, Seymour was still a great player but you could clearly see they weren't going to pay him what he's earned next year ,so it's a smart move for a cheap team
Not surprised. There have been rumblings since Seymour started complaining about not getting an extension. He was never going to get the money he wanted in New England, just not the way they do business. Seymour's numbers have declined each of the last three seasons and he didn't look any better in preseason than he did last year. In fact I believe his speed times were actually slower. The success of Jarrod Mayo has kinda changed the Pats view on draft picks. They usually trade the high ones away but chose to select Mayo and he excelled at his position. The lure of 3.3 million off the cap, possibly going to sign Vince Wilfork's extension, and the chance that the 2011 pick could easily be in the top 5 and most likely will definately be no worse than a top 10, was too much for the Pats to pass up. Got to see the last preseason game in person and may get to the opener as well. After that it's too cold for me to miss the Laz-y-Boy and fireplace on Sunday afternoons.
Nature of the Beast Guys. Players start to get old...it's time to get some young Blood in there. Sadly...professional sports careers are relatively short.
