At participating McDonald's & Burger King talk

We all hear McDonald's & Burger King TV commercials say "at participating McDonald's" or "Burger King" ...

My local Mc and Burger NEVER participate in any promotions.

Not only do they not ever have movie tie-ins, but they don't even have stuff like extended dollar menu's etc.

    Just wondering,
Are there a lot of NON participating Mc and Burgers around ?

It feels like my local ones are the only ones in the world.

All the ones I've seen in MA take part in what ever is going around.

I don't think I've ever encountered a non-participating one here around Baltimore or DC. Not to sound silly, but are your McD and BK away from major travel routes or possible vendors who would supply different food items, etc?
      It's all good!

That really sucks! That is the first that I have heard of something like that. I have always known that each location is owned and operated independently. I figured that even though most of them are owned by different owners that they would all pretty much follow suit. It seems to me that it would be to their benefit to do so. That really takes the cake. Does your McD's even offer Happy Meals? IF not I would say it would be more like a crappy meal from a kid's stand point.

They're about 1/2 mile off Interstate 80 in the Poconos

The Poconos is a big-time tourist area in both summer and winter

It seems like there should be a reason, if both chains are not participating. Weird.

Nope haven't seen it. Probably ha smore to do with the individual owners. As crazy as it sounds there people who own businesses that will do the least they can to get by. I knew someone who owned a comic shop and rather than put up any of the posters or promo materials he was sent he'd promptly throw them in the trash.

Took awhile for the new McDonald's here to put up a Dollar Value Menu. Being right off of I-65,I think they had to.

a few aeround here don't. I think BK are corporately owned (if so there is no excuse for them not to participate) but ever MCD is a franchise so the owner has to agree to participate as it can cut into their profits. I never see the mcd in walmart, gas stations or the tunpk with the full dollar menu and usually less movie promos too

I don't think I've ever been in one that didn't participate.
