Would a tank fall under the cash for clunkers program?I guess I could trade my Viper in....I am not sure what kind of gas mileage a tank gets though???? ....Maybe I should just stick with the Viper for now.
For some reason I don't think the gf would be real keen on me trading in my Viper for a tank..
Honey look what I just bought!Besides the tank would be hell on my asphault drive way.

>Not sure if the powers that be would allow us to buy one though?
Most of them require a special license and are classified as trucks; although a full MBT falls under tracked/construction vehicles in most places. ('Cos the treads tear up the road and require special pads.)
>Does anyone know if and where one can actually buy a tank?
They come up for auction every now and then. The Govt. sells off surplus/decomissioned ones. (So don't expect to get a cannon or anything.)
>I am not sure what kind of gas mileage a tank gets though????
Some of 'em take 2l of gas per KM. Mileage is pretty bad.

Don C.I think a cannon is definitely pretty much out of the question.
None the less it would still be fun to drive around on the back 40.

My input for what it is worth is that I'm hoping to buy something like a Dodge 1500 King Cab (whatever they call them) and convert it to BioDiesel. I know one guy running a Tractor on BioDiesel he makes on his farm and at the gas pump several weeks ago I overheard two guys talking about a friend who converted his trucks and makes BioDiesel for 19cents/gal.
They said the same guy killed the Electricity at his Business and runs of BioDiesel generators and saves $2000.00/mo from that.
However, I like the 100mpg Hummer as per this news story and company link but I can't look into it for myself now and batteries vs biodiesel may be less enviromentally friendly. My goal is to get off "foreign oil/oil" for my cars and make a contribution that way.

I kind of doubt I would be getting a Charger or Challenger. Even know they are not a bad looking ride. The HEMI would be a definite choice if I were to go that route for sure. I am more of a GM loyal customer as far as Camaro's and Corvettes go. I have had real good memories of both. Not to say that there is anything wrong at all with a Challenger. They are nice looking autos. As a sports car I want something to be really FAST. Not that I am a huge speed demon. It is still nice to know that one has the power at their disposal.
