I can't get enough of this stuff! It's my favorite search on netflix and I constantly have my TV tuned to Encore Westerns! John Wayne is my favorite (although I'm always discovering more western stars that are just as talented but not as popular) and I've hardly recognized Ken Curtis in "The Alamo, The Horse Soldiers and of course, The Searchers" (which is my favorite Western). I've just recently discovered shows like Maverick and Cheyenne Bodie, and grew up on Daniel Boone (fav). And any Western Fan should check out Johnny Cash's music. That's pretty much most of what he wrote. He was a huge Gene Autry fan and carried that with him through is career. example

Here are nice couple links for your entertainment.

Just in case you didn't know what happened to them or wanted to meet some old western stars. Those old westerns.

Ken Curtis (was like James Doohan as far as the man with many accents. And I always thought he was just Festus).

Actor- Sam Elliott (he's the Old West come to life)
Movie-The Tall T (hard to find but a great newer Randolph Scott with Richard Boone as the worst villian ever)... also love John Ford/Wayne The Searchers
            T.V- Bonanza/Daniel Boone (kinda western)
Comic-anything with Vigilante (not quite Old, but definitely Western)
American West fig-More of a Marx figs fan, followed by LR, with Mego as a far 3rd, but I do like the Davy Crockett figure

                Magnificent Seven.
A great movie, perfect in every way, with a dream cast.
Add to that the legendary soundtrack.

Ok, so it's based on a japanese classic, but I still think it's the greatest western ever made.

                            I hope so.

As a life long western fan, I think it's awesome. It shows just how much hatred, some of the settlers had for indians. I equally think Broken Arrow is awesome for the reason that it shows another other point of view. (That of the Native American Indians).

Not John Wayne's best, but I agree with the above quote!

                                7. Red River
8.Once Upon A Time In the West
                                9.Winchester 73
                                10.The Shootist
