    American's who visited Canada POLL

The tourist thread inspired this one ...
Non-American's are very welcomed to reply as well

America shares the WORLD'S LONGEST common border with Canada which is 5,525 miles long - so it's only natural to think many American's regularly visit Canada.

    My poll is .....
If you've been to Canada, name the provinces and/or territories you were in.

    Mine is ...

    Manitoba
    Ontario
    Quebec
    New Brunswick
    Nova Scotia
    Prince Edward Island

That's pretty good, I live in Canada and am ashamed to admit that Ontario is the only province I've ever been in. I've been to tons of states in the US though. Go figure.

You now need either a passport, enhanced drivers licence (that shows your citizenship, I'm not sure how many states and provinces actually have these yet) or a trusted traveller card like NEXUS (the card shows your citizenship and you have to have background checks done to get one). Mind you, you don't need these to enter Canada, but rather to return to the US, including US citizens. But technically, this is a "soft enforcement" right now. Constitutionally, the US couldn't deny a US citizen entry into their country, but if you don't have any of the above documents, be prepared to sit in the immigration office for some time until they can prove you are who you say.

I've been to Montreal 4 times. Canada is the only country outside of the US I have been to.

Driven across the USA 3 times though but never shore to shore.

I went to Niagra Falls when I was a kid. You didn't need passports back then. You just stopped at the border, and an officer would ask what was your reason for being there. Then he'd wave you through and tell you to have a nice time. On the way out, he'd ask if you made any major purchases while in Canada. My dad said that we just got some souvenirs, and the officer waved us through again.
Hey! Where's the waiter with the water for my daughter?

                    Check out my customs!

Touring with bands, I used to hit Vancouver, BC quite a bit. I've also been through many a club in Winnepeg, Ottowa,Toronto, and Montreal. Used to do some festivals on Vancouver Island as well. We had a really nice trip up the countryside from Windsor to Toronto in the summertime. Quite pleasant, tho the gas station stops were a bit wacky and the currency conversion thing is always a crapshoot.

As for passports, I've had plenty of fun with customs and immigration on both sides. One time, coming back into the US from Toronto, we were locked into a garage with a bunch of inspectors and dogs. That was a real hoot.

I always like the Vancouver BC shows. There was a spot nearby the venue with an empty lot between some big buildings that was typically roped off with somebody showing a 16mm movie up on one of the walls. The last time I was there, the filmees were having a monster festival and were showing Creature from the Black Lagoon. Way cool.

Since I live in Canada I guess I'm excluded from the question...LOL
Anyway I've been to all the provinces none of the territories though.
I've also travelled extensively through the US.

Yes you do need a passport or enhanced ID card to enter the US and come back.
For and extra $35 you can turn your drivers licence into an enhanced Id card. The passport will run you $85 plus picture.

It's been nine years since I was last to Canada. Went to Kingston in Ontario. Going over that big bridge that goes over the St. Lawrence is always fun.
