CONCACAF qualifier game: USA vs Mexico

    Mexico 2...USA 1...at Estadio Azteca.

The unbeaten streak continues in Mexico...the Mexicans have never lost to the Americans there.

USA played well in the first half...scoring first....but they went flat in the second half...

Mexico beats US 2-1 in qualifier - World Soccer - Yahoo! Sports

Mexico has a lot of youngsters from their World Cup championship Under 17 team like Giovani Do Santos and Carlos Vela...they are relentless.

USA is still in second place with 10 points...with Mexico just behind them with 9.

    I still love USA's goalie...Tim Howard...he is awesome.

Nobody cares about the NFL outside the USA...and maybe Canada.

Those packed stadiums of NFL games you occasionally see on some European country like England...is just one game...and it's basically just a novelty for them....no way on this Earth would an NFL franchise survive there...it would get crushed by REAL football.

There's a reason why Manchester United is the most expensive franchise in the world...you know.

The Mexico vs USA was exciting as heck for me...it was awesome.

...and you are Cuban-American...what the hell do you know about soccer anyway?

I watched the Game, It was Fantastic.

I could only imagine how hard it would be to play at that Altitude.

I thought the Americans did really good. They gave Mexico a hell of a game.

Mexicos youngsters are fantastic. The future of the Mexican national team is secured.

I can't wait for this weekend. Thats the Start of the English Premier League. Ohh happy happy joy joy. Go Liverpool

Yeah...American players just don't acclimate to the altitude at Azteca Stadium...it's really hard for them...that's why they have never won there.

I mean...the first half was back and forth...evenly matched...but on the second half...USA lost their legs....and ran outta gas.

          That's what happened.

lol! exactly , it's all about Football,B-ball and Baseball for me. I did play soccer as a kid though, I was playing football and my coach saw me and asked my mom if I could play. Can you guess what position "Goalie"
it was fun as a kid though. I still played it with my Colombian friends until I was about 18

but outside the World cup i really can't watch a full game, I'm sure you feel the same way about the sports I watch

I love the NFL...baseball is the one I can't stand now (although it does have a rich history...and old time players do fascinate me). Hockey is another sport I can't get into....double goes for NASCAR...zzzzzzzzzzzz...

there's gotta be nothing on TV for me to watch Nascar(and by that I mean the cable goes out and only one channel has it and I have to be on lazy mode where i don't feel like getting up and putting on a DVD )

Hockey i could watch a little

Pretty good game . . . . With the pressure Mexico was putting on USA, the deciding goal was inevitable. You can't let any team play that long in your end without something bad happening. When Juarez broke and DeMirit left Sabah alone to take Juarez it just shows how they were scrambling to keep it level. You never leave your man in the box much less 5 yards from the crease!
                          Oh well they'll regroup . . . .

I am slowly returning from hiatus.

It was a good game and although I'm all for USA; I'm glad to see Mexico return after getting humiliated by some weaker CONCACAF teams.

I can only imagine what it is like to play 90 minutes of soccer at that altitude in front of a 100,000+ crowd of Mexican football fans. I believe FIFA was considering creating a rule that FIFA sanctioned games could not be played above a certain altitude but that has been shot down.

It all goes back and forth. Mexico and US will never receive their due respect until they can prove they can beat the European power houses on a consistent basis and not just one offs like the U.S./Spain upset.
