Actually they can. I've seen errors like that happen a lot with online stores. Sometimes retailers honour the deal as an act of good faith, but in cases like this where the price is ridiculously low, that won't happen, and they don't legally have to.

Did anyone try to get it with pickup at the store? Usually that goes through right away and you simply need to print out the receipt and take it there. I would have been getting one at every BB I could find.

I'll bet Best Buy did the whole thing on purpose for publicity.

Took them 8 hours, but they did cancel my order officially, and said my card was never charged. It was fun hoping beyond hope for a while though.

it is an error indeed but does it not still fall under false advertisement?

Bummer. I was right with you on that. Sort of like a Godfather offer, wasn't it? Oh well, thanks Antiquetiger for the heads up though. Please keep us in mind the next time you are observant to an early morning shopper deal like that. Original list price just under $4,000. That is a little beyond too good to be true.

I read right away, about their disclaimer policy under errors in their listings. They covered it. Just hoped not too many people noticed and they'd let it slip. But in reality, the things sold out pretty quickly. If they honor one, they'd have to honor them all.

                      From AP:

Best Buy, based in Richfield, Minn., said it has corrected an online pricing error and will not honor the incorrect price. Orders made Wednesday morning at the incorrect price will be canceled and customers will receive refunds, the company said.
