I realize most people don't like soccer but this is very exciting for me.
The U.S. Men's National Team is playing Brazil that is pitted as battle of the champions (winner of Copa America vs. winner of Gold Cup) in Chicago next month.
I couldn't believe it when my wife said I could go without any griping...I live in Maryland so that means plane tickets, hotel, and tickets.
There was a presale yesterday to members of USSOCCER.com and low and behold I snagged two seats right on the field. I'm not talking front row stadium seats but chairs they are going to place right on the sidelines! I paid through the nose for them at face value $250 per ticket but could easily sell them for about $1,000 per ticket on EBAY if I wanted.
Both teams are bringing their 'A' squads and not the 2nd stringers that played in Copa America. Ronaldinho et al vs. Donovan et al. I think this is the 2nd time Brazil has ever played the U.S. on U.S. soil so it is one of those once in a lifetime events for soccer fans like me.
I am taking my 12 year old son and he is super excited as well. As much as I love American Football, this is about equivalent to me as getting Super Bowl tickets...woo hoo!
Although not a widely followed sport, this game is going to sell out quick. I think tickets go on sale to the public today or tomorrow.
