    Worst teen job you had?

My second job ever was going door to door setting up appointments for guys who sold aluminum siding. I made $10 for every appointment I set up and the salesmen attended and $150 if the homeowner bought the siding. I went door to door after school and on weekends for 5 months. I made a grand total of $60 for my efforts. The job sucked! My mother actually told me that the job was bad and to get a different one.

Anyone else have a crappy job as a teen??

Checkers was pretty bad, but the worse was construction when i was 18 ( all they had me do was Demolition) it was one of those temp job things where you show up every morning to see if they need you. They pay the agency a certain amount and then they turn around and pay you per hour which was B S !! we found out the company was getting paid $20+ an hour for each of us and they were only paying us $6 something and after they charge us fee's to take out our own money from an ATM you worked 12 hour days for like $48 after fee's and taxes!!

I can see why you're not a math teacher. I worked a tomato farm in the summer, and at the end of each day I was so filthy that my mom made me wash down in the garage before I could come inside to take a shower. Dirtier work than baling hay or cleaning stalls, which were fun in their own right.

Digging ditches was my worst teen job. This outfit dug trenching to put in power lines, water lines, whatever, in new construction sites. The "boss" would tell you to dig a trench x amount of feet long, and x amount of feet wide/deep....then the "boss" would take off for the nearest bar and leave you there to do the work. Sure wouldnt fly in todays safety conscious work sites!

Breaking concrete and hauling it off by hand for some farmer dude in Illinois. 5 bucks an hour with Permanent injurys. Nothing serious, but now whenever I throw out my back, it's from that.

Worked in a movie theatre for 3.35hr, but that was ok cause we got free movie passes.

                  Hmmmm....

I had a helluva time finding ANYTHING after graduating from the U. After a year of looking it cane down to selling natural gas door to door, or the army. So I sold natural gas door to door. THAT was the worst job ever. (AND what led me to the army....)

Working at the casino came a close second, but they actually paid me.

Oh god, I hate those guys. The ones that come around here are so pushy. Their answer to "No thanks" is "What, you don't want to save money?" One time when I wasn't home, one of those jerks pressured my wife into signing something (English isn't her first language). The next day I called the company and absolutely reamed them out (and told my wife not to ever do something like that, just close the door in their face if she has to). Now when ever one of these guys comes to the door (and by chance I answer, usually I don't) I tell them if it was such a great deal, they wouldn't have to go door to door selling it, and then slam the door in their face. Sorry, Don.

My worst job as a teenager was picking strawberries at a berry farm. Got paid a really low amount per basket filled. At the end of day, I was hot and tired and barely made pocket change. I never went back.

Second worst was a dishwasher in a restaurant. I lasted one summer, working in a tremendously hot kitchen, and coming home smelling like fried fish. Fun times!

I worked at a local farm picking beans and berries and such along with migrant workers when I was thirteen or fourteen. I would work until lunch then skateboard into town and bum around. I'm not sure how many weeks I lasted, but I remember being paid in cash, something like $28 a week.

The worst job I ever had was as a security guard from ages 21 to 23...two years of garbage time...much worse than any teen job I've ever had BY FAR.

As a matter of fact...I loved my job as a teenager...I worked part-time at a liquor store from ages 16 to 18...yes...you heard right...a liquor store.

Ah...those were the days of unpolitical correctness...lol...

I never worked at a fast food joint.

I tried...I got hired at a local burger joint...it was called Kwik Way Burgers...it featured some of the greasiest burgers and fried chicken around...but I couldn't handle the hectic work...so I quit within a week...lol.

This is the joint...it's no longer in service...hated to work there...but man...those were some sleazy but tasty burgers...lol...

                            Most people do....

I keep a stack of Army recruitment pamphlets nearby, and when they come to the door I hand them one.

                            >and then slam the door in their face. Sorry, Don.

                            That was YOU?!?!?!

HAW! I did that job too. Not a bad job, but I felt like a tool spending my evenings doing nothing. (For a while I was guarding an empty parking lot that wasn't attached to anything. Just an empty lot in the middle of nowhere.)

For a short time I was a male prostitute, but it was very hard finding work -- me being about 320 pounds back then.
