How long is to long to wait on a trade

Hi,
I made a trade on the marketplace on the 22nd. I sent out my end with DC and the person I traded with received there end of the trade on the 25th. The person I traded with is only 1 state away. I waited about a week and pmed them to ask them if there was any problems or if they had had a chance to mail my end out yet. I have not gotten a responce or received my end of the trade yet. What do you guys think?

It depends.
If it's an old time member he might just be lazy and need a booting in his behind to get him moving.
Sometimes a thread like this does the trick even without naming names

If it's a new member, i'd be more warry.
Keep spamming him with PM's ...
If he don't answer, out him on the forums.

I once waited *five months* for an old time Mego Museum regular to send me their half of a trade deal, and it wasn't until I made a public issue of it that I finally got it resolved. I'm slightly less patient these days, but I'd give them a little more time before getting too upset. It's only been about a week and a half since they received their item.

For me, a huge part of trading is building trust with members in order to have stronger friendships. I have bonded with a bunch of folks here this way. Sometimes both sides waited a couple months, but we were in communication and that made it okay and also fun.

Thanks for the imput guys. I wouldnt even bother posting if I could at least get a reply to my pm from him but who knows things do happen I will wait another week or so before I try to contact him again.

I agree. Response is necessary to build trust.
No response. No trust. Bad taste in mouth.

But hey, you took a chance on trying a trade and that shows that you trusted the other member enough to even try, right? So, perhaps that oughta still mean something until it becomes a few weeks and then the dude best have a good excuse.
