I actually read this thread and didn't comment at first, but after seeing some of the other comments I want to say: If selling my collection would benefit a family member or friend in some kind of unexpected trouble, I'd sell in a heartbeat. It means squat to me if those I love are not healthy and happy and I know every one of you would do the same, so it ain't worth mentioning......yet I did, fully aware that I am not alone in that stance.

I totally get where you are coming from with this....but save your collection. All you need to do is point out that engaging in politics in this day and age is equivalent to discussing who Jessica Simpson is dating and even less relevant than who won the Buick Open. People only parrot political views, but they get Tabloids and Sports.

Much more relevant and beneficial to discuss the weather, because it is predictable and has more influence on your day (do I wear shorts, a sweater or both?).
