    There goes VH-1 Classic

Lately, they're starting to air less and less videos. Won't be long and they'll be going the way of MTV and VH-1.

Before I had my cable shut off I used to watch it for a few of the movies .. specifically the Temptations movie and Spinal Tap ... That's about all I watched on it.

Some of the album documentarys were pretty good too, until they started replaying the same ones over and over and over.

I still dig VH1 even though there not like they used to be. I really miss pop up video. I bet there getting better ratings with the reality tv and other shows. I'm a sucker for I Love Money

I have nostalgia towars many things but music videos aren't one of them. I like certain songs but wasn't into music back then the way others were. As as far as the current VH1 it's hit and miss. But I'll pretty much check out any of the shows with hot girls. I'm a sucker for that. Yep, toys there's a T.O. show. The whole premise is trying to calm him down and get him to focus on business which is silly IMO. For thbose who like reality TV the best part is the craziness.

                Hmmmm....

I think cable tv worked out the exact OPPOSITE of how everyone thought it would. The old idea was that a zillion channels would lead to the development of endless variety and niche markets; when in reality stations seem to use a schtick as their in, but as they expand their programming gets increasingly generic. (So's to appeal to a wider audience I'd think.)

The one that burst the illusion for me was a few years back, when Bravo (considered the highbrow network) was showing "TJ Hooker."

I'd really like one of these stations to show videos. I think MTV has 30 minutes of videos a day now, MTV2 (supposed to be the station that showed videos because of the direction MTV took) is the same as MTV. VH1 has went the way of MTV and now classic appears to be doing the same.

I guess that's where the numbers are since every station has done it but I'm old school. I want videos!

Last week they showed Adventures In Babysitting. Then around Friday or so,they had some debate thing they had on regular VH-1. Wanting to know which version of a movie was better or which actor and so on. Like I said,it won't be long and they'll stop showing videos on there.

I don't really understand what the point is of having VH-1 Classic if it's not going to keep the format of showing videos and music stuff the way "classic" VH-1 did! LOL I was initially more receptive to the programming they had on VH-1 when they had a couple of reality shows, plus Behind the Music and so forth. But now it's nothing but reality shows, and they're getting worse and worse.

I think probably the biggest problem with something like VH-1 Classic is that they tend to replay the same stuff over and over. Alot of people seem to really enjoy the station when they first get it, and are happy to see old videos again and concerts, etc. But then after a while the novelty wears off and they just lose interest. I love music videos and music related programs, but I've sadly come to realise I'm in the minority, especially in this country where a huge portion of people get their only dose of musical entertainment from watching American Idol every week
