How old is too old for a Toy hobby?

Do you think friends or family look down on your hobby?

Think about it... we watch cartoons made for kids, collect toys made for kids...

Will we ever reach an age where we stop?

For me I know the answers no way, if anything I think I'm more into my comics and megos at 39 then in my younger years

Never. On eof the good things abotu being is an adult is you have the right (within reason) to do whatever you want! If someone looks down on you maybe they need to get their own hobby. But the "made for kids" part is quite true. Made for kids? Yes. But the kid versions of us. 70's kids. A shining example of this is recently my cousin came to visit with his two young children. My mom pulled out the old reliable, ages-old Lincoln Logs and Blocks. The kids played briefly but became bored soon enough. Upon learning I had a Playstation 2 and XBox 360 though it was a different story. No bonus points for guessing what they spent the rest of the day doing. Plus this hobby isn't the cheapest. Being an adult with a certain amount of disposbale income is pretty much a prerequisite.

You are never too old! Luckily, my friends and family have no problem with it. Most toys nowadays are so expensive. I have bought more toys(and comics) in the past 15 years (35 now) than I ever did as a young kid. I still love searching and finding new toys as much as I did, when I was a kid going to Kmart and with my Gramma.

Did anyone ever stop collecting for awhile? I've not stopped collecting comics since 1980, even when I was in the Navy and on deployment the local comic shop would hold my books til I got back, 6 months worth of comics was pricey

My daughters say I am going down to the basement to "play with my dolls" and my wife just rolls her eyes. Do I care......NO!

I love collecting and am starting to work on my customs and AJ's since I now have the space. I also consider it a way to relieve stress from a hard day in the office.

I also was one who never gave a crap about what other people think anyway!

                  Never!!

Never stop if it make you happy!! Keeping our memories alive from our youth keeps us young! Even my kids at ages 5 & 7 enjoy the toons from the past over the lame toons made these days!

So stay young with your toys, toons and more!!!

If anyone says anything about my toys I simply point to the Ages 4 and up on the box. I say I fall into the "up" category. Plus I've had my second childhood many times now.

Everyone's addicted to something. I'd rather be addicted to toys for life, than drugs, anyday.

                          >Do you think friends or family look down on your hobby?

Yep, Mostly co-workers. Also, I'm sure that friends and family think it's time for me to grow up. Actually, they've pretty much said this to my face.

Think about it... we watch cartoons made for kids, collect toys made for kids...

Um, yeah. That's why they think that I should grow up. Today I turned the channel to Retrotoon at the gym and watched G.I. Joe while I worked out. People looked at me like I was a reatard.

Will we ever reach an age where we stop?

I'll move on to something else eventually. I'll keep what I've collected so far, but probably start collection something else. I've kinda strayed from my record collecting obsession and I've been missing it lately.

For me I know the answers no way, if anything I think I'm more into my comics and megos at 39 then in my younger years.

I've got more money now, to buy all they stuff I always wanted as a kid, but I assume that one day I'll want everything I wanted as an adult.

I will never grow up and my family and friends think all the toy stuff is just part of that.
