Does anyone here know anything about Wall Clocks ?

Just a shot in the dark

My brother in law wants me to help him sell a wall clock.

I'm trying to do some research on it .. specifically to determine an asking price, but so far i'm coming up with nothing.

    It's about 24" high and 13" across
It's made by Hamilton (say's Hamilton on the face)
It's a wood schoolhouse style octagonal clock with pendulum.
It winds up with a key .. and the face has 2 key holes.
The clock is really heavy for it's size.
The glass face cover is bowed.

I don't think it's an antique because he got it as a gift from his company when he retired back in the late 80's -early 90's

Anybody here know anything about clocks that you have to wind ?

From what I've seen of those antique roadshow programs, they're worth very little.
Even old clocks don't do well.
And since it's heavy, shipping might be more than the value of the thing.

Can I suggest giving it to someone as a gift?

      not me....not me.....

Don't forget to wind it first.

I'm sure customs will appreciate a ticking package...

The Hamilton clock company went out of business in the 1800's. Unless this is a repro, you do have an antique. Still, antique clocks don't really fetch much these days.
