Actor Les Lye, the adult who often played drunken parents and the awful short order cook "Barth" on "You Can't Do That on Television" has passed away. He was 84 years old.

Wow 84. Didn't look that old. He was great at delivering and taking the punchlines. Loved watching YCDTOT with my kids. Amanda Bynes was one of the funniest comediennes I have ever seen even at that age. Much better than the Hannah Montana crap on now. Just good wacky comedy perfect for kids and adults that think they still are. Don't know why she was never approached to do something like SNL. Was fortunate enough to have my boys chosen to do an episode of Slime Time Live and GAS (Games and Sports) while in Universal Studios a few years back and even the back stage crew was awesome. Definately a job I could enjoy. Spent the entire day backstage and on sets. Simply love Nickelodeon. RIP
RIP---that dude and that show made me think cable TV was that much more special---
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix
Les Lye used to do a show in Ottawa with Bill Luxton called the Uncle Willy & Floyd show. I loved it as a kid. One year at my dad's companies annual Christmas party Uncle Willy and Floyd entertained as the guests. One of the things they did was a magic trick and they chose one kid from the audience to come onstage and help them with it. I was that lucky kid.
It was a real thrill at the time and it is a great memory.
