    Hector, That is awesome.

I myself am a 90% Superman collector. (That missing 10% fits in everything else including my husband's collections )

I had to walk away 2 wks ago from an Ideal wooden Superman at a toy show ($1500) and it hurt me quite a bit.

Here's some advise from a seasoned Superman collector:

    Get
The Adventures of Superman Collecting by Harry Matetsky

    ISBN 13: 9780930289317

    ISBN 10: 0930289315

    Hardcover

Before the internet, before the 90's Superman media/pop culture explosion, THIS book was the holy tome. Everything and ANYthing Superman collectible is in this huge slipcase hardcover, hard to find expensive book. (took me several years to get a copy back in the before internet days) But no collection is complete without it. Kind of like how no Mego collection is complete with the WGSH book :

About the wooden Ideal Supes...which is better...to get a kinda of a beat up one and leave it as is...or restore him?

I could never be that focused on collecting just one character. My tastes and attention span are all over the place.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I guess it depends on the price and your own personal taste. I'm hoping to find one that has a little bit of wear to knock the price down, but a nice face and little or no restoration.

The problem with restoration is that the few examples I've seen just don't look right. I would imagine that if you find someone that's skilled, it would be worthwhile. To me, a bad restoration job is worse than bad damage... I've seen some eBay examples that have the hair painted almost solid black with the paint glopped on heavily so that the head and hair look like a solid sheet of plastic, and it just looks terrible.

Yes I did...one of the dumbest things I've ever done...

But I needed the money at the time.

Don't worry...I can always buy another one back...it's a never ending endless endeavor.
