Guys...I'm might be going all Superman in my hobby collecting
That would be cool if Superman didn't suck so bad.
Sorry, couldn't help it. Actually, in the last couple years I've kind of adjusted my attitude towards Superman. He used to kind of bore me because he was so all powerful, but recently I've come to appreciate the man of steel, and become much more interested in collecting Big Blue. The older I get (and the more I hang around these boards) the more I appreciate the purity of the character and the less tormented dramatic factor.
Supes is my favorite too...but it's hard to imaging forsaking all other
pop culture to focus on him.
Even when it comes to DC...you need the "lesser" heroes to display with
Supes to make him look good
Then again, you and I are much different collectors---I like alot loose stuff
mostly---packaged collecting is a bit more a comfy fit with focusing on one
character, I guess.
Anyways...someone said earlier that you have to collect what makes you
happy---which sounds easier than it is to DO...that's my greatest advice to collectors----spend a lot of time trying to figure out what you like----you won't regret it!
So, yeah, good luck man---and suffice it to say, we have simillar taste in characters....SUPES is probably my favorite pop culture hero...
along with greats like:
INDIANA JONES, LUKE SKYWALKER, SPIDER-MAN and PETER VENKMAN

Yep Dave...when I was in my late teens and had my "rediscovery"
of "childish things" after about a 5 year break----I gravitated right to
SUPERMAN and LUKE SKYWALKER for the same reason...and it's been
like that ever since.
Sure...I enjoy BATMAN and HAN SOLO (they ARE cool!), but there's
something satisfying about championing the "boy scout" hero type.
