    Year long observations

Well it's been almost a year since hurricane Ike and I just wanted to make some obsevations about the people and the museum.

    1) The people here are the kindest I have ever met. The outpouring of emotional and financial support I received after the tragedy was overwhelming. I also think back to how you people reacted when Toro came back and told of his wife's passing. This community amazes me.

    2) Our admin team here has a lot of patience. We have argued, talked about politics, religion and many other taboo (for good reason) subjects and Dave and Brian become the parents who need to control the kids. you guys do a great job!

    3) When I had gall-bladder surgery there was all of the emotional support I needed in this place. Also Supes PAID for some deals I had going when I came down sick! I am in awe of you guys daily!

    4) I met lifelong friends here. Juan,James D., Todd, Chuck, Russ, Dave the aussie, and many others I am priveleged to know as a friend.

5)other observations-James D. loves fanny packs, Todd is a great guy on the boards but a super guy in person, Chuck has a great wife and mom, Damian is everyone's friend, Hector and i have too much in common to be buttholes to each other.

I never in a million years would have thought that I would find people on a toyboard like you guys. You have all made my life this past year much better than it could have been. Once again, i am in awe of all of you.

John, you're what I call "good people".
Thanks for sharing your reflections. Good stuff!
    :-)

It has been a pleasure John. Thank you for the kind words. I agree this has become a place I visit so much it's one of the first things I do every morning. Even if I was to stop collecting Megos I would still come here because of the members.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

I couldn't have said it better. It's something that amazes me everytime I think about it. This place is one of a kind, for sure.

Great observations, John! Actually, how is your community now? Has everything around the area recovered from the hurricane? Hopefully this season will be slow, storm-wise.
            It's all good!

Most people have fixed up what was destroyed. I'll tell you, we ever get another hurricane I'm getting the hell out of here and heading north.

A few times since the 70's we've had the dregs of some storms make it up here in Maryland. back in '97 my wife and I were vacationing in VA when Floyd came through. I don't think I would ever want to be in one when it just hits land. I can't imagine what you must have felt like and a year later I'm still glad that no one in your family was hurt.
                It's all good!
